Siu Hak

A HK based Illustrator, who graduated in the School Of Design in the HK Polytechnic University.

He worked as a freelance illustrator after he graduates, and he has a special comic column in the" 東touch Magazine" for over 4 years.

Distinctive Works

1) The Deaf Panda

It is a story about a panda and a girl who were both waiting for the Cat Bus which appeared in the "Totoro". The girl asked the panda whether it is the right station to wait for the bus. However, the panda misunderstood and made a laughter. This is a story that shaped the personality of the Deaf Panda's personality, and it is a milestone of the after Deaf Panda stories. 

This comic is simple, and it gives very good entertainment to the readers. Moreover, as a illustrator, I see how Siu Hak shaped the character's personality through a story. The storyline is simple, however it gives a large space for him to express the "Deaf" personality of the Deaf Panda.

This story is about the attitude of dating of many HK people.

This is a story with 2 sides. One side is the female side, another side is the male side.

In the female side, the woman was always thinking that she has no attractiveness, and she will not meet her love in the future. In the other side, the man was actually pretending to be a good man, however he was thinking how to get close with other women other than his girlfriend.

This story wrote how does HK people feel about their dating status.

HK men are always searching for better partners than their current one, 

and HK women are lacking self confidence of themselves.

I love this story as the author wrote what I really think, and it is a fact in my life.

3) The Victoria Harbor Stars 維港巨星

This series of comic is called the Victoria Harbor Stars. 

The characters are no longer animals, and they are the buildings standing in the coast of the Victoria Harbor. Siu Hak gave them different personalities, and the buildings become something like the transformers. 

In this series of comic, it had many stories mocking the HK government short sighted policies, and some ridiculous stories based on these characters. As these buildings all have different backgrounds, they represent different people in the society. For example, the HSBC building signifies the Banking Sector of HK, and the Central Library signifies the Culture Sector of HK.
